Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear, North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners v. Federal Trade Commission
(FTC), to determine whether a federal agency has the right to intervene in state medical licensure board decisions. The U.S. Court of Appeals previously ruled in favor of the FTC -- essentially stating that state medical licensure boards are subject to antitrust laws.
